ICBM Free Download Repacklab ICBM is a real-time strategy game of nuclear destruction. Research new technologies, build up your nuclear stockpile and use a combination of ships, planes and missiles to strike at the heart of your opponents’ cities while keeping your population safe from harm. In ICBM, you can try out different strategies every time you play. Will you overwhelm your enemy with intercontinental ballistic missiles? Use bombers to deliver massive payloads? Or maybe use submarines to deliver nukes from the least expected locations? These strategies and more can all be used to ensure victory. ICBM has 20 unit types and 12 nuclear weapon types to use, plus 44 technologies to explore. Take the time to carefully plan your next move, or just nuke your opponents as fast as you can. Increase the contamination speed for a swift and painless nuclear war, or slow it down for an endless nightmare. In ICBM, you can constantly adjust the game speed to your own pace. Be aware however that these alliances do not have to last and you might find yourself fending off attacks by your former friends. Reduce micro-management by making use of the strike planner. you’re not going to be able to research all of the technologies without seriously crippling your production capabilities, so you’re forced to specialize in certain technologies which really give a certain flavor to your forces. For my first (and so far, only) game, I specialized in advanced radar technology, which I used to coordinate my equally advanced SAM/ABM emplacements, giving me an impenetrable defense against enemy nukes and planes. From this strong defensive base, I used my ICBM bunkers and trucks, together with my nuclear subs, to cripple the enemy defenses in a decisive first strike, allowing me to flatten their cities at my leisure. Of course, this was only one way to play; in said playthrough, the Russians specialized in swarms of exceptional stealth bombers carrying very high-yield nuclear bombs.

In essence, it’s just like an actual nuclear arms race. You try and outdo your opponent, develop new and novel ways of turning them into radioactive charcoal, develop new ways to defend yourself or ensure you can still kill everyone if you get nuked first, find ways to bypass the enemy’s defences, and hope the entire time that they don’t have a nasty trick up their sleeve that you don’t know about, like a dozen submarine-launched MIRVs hanging out somewhere in the ocean where you can’t find them. Which gets even more complicated when there’s more than one potential enemy to worry about. And even more complicated when the nations have friends that might not actually be friends… One notable difference. Xenonauts 

is that unlike an actual nuclear arms race, peace isn’t going to be an option. Nobody wins until somebody has nuked somebody else, and by a lot. So the game leaves you tense, knowing that at some point, somebody’s going to make a move that’s going to spiral into the entire playing field being flipped. Russia loses an aircraft carrier to a submarine off the coast of Japan. They respond by attacking East Asian airbases. East Asia responds by launching ICBMs at Russia’s launchers. West Asia detects the launches, panics and nukes East Asia’s cities. Europe takes advantage of the chaos and launches nukes of their own. Little does anybody know, the Russian carrier was actually sunk by Oceania, who is now laughing maniacally as they take the Americas by surprise.

ICBM UNIQUE MECHANICS

One of the coolest things about this game is that everyone has the same “economy” in that everything you construct (units/buildings) or research requires a particular amount of time. Within this aspect is the ability to dedicate the focus of each aspect (construction or research) evenly or simply stop one in favor of focusing on the other for quicker turnaround. So, what this means is that you aren’t technically “purchasing” units or spamming anything. Rather, you (and your opponent(s)) are allocating time in game to your respective offensive and defensive strategies. The time you allocate to whatever strategy you commit to, in every instance, is a gamble; because you never know what your enemy is up to 100%. Mashinky

There is an “espionage” mechanic that gives you a general idea of what research your enemy is focusing on, but again, you never truly know definitively. I really like this idea as it prevents spamming and highlights the risk vs reward mechanic of this real-time strategy game in a unique way. Don’t get me wrong, you can have a MASSIVE military, but it feels “right” and, for lack of a better term, somehow more earned, because everyone has the same level of economy (everyone starts at 100% efficiency via a monitored GDP) and everyone took the risk via expenditure of time to cultivate and build your assets. With that, if you or your enemy suffers a nuclear attack on your cities, your GDP and economic efficiency degrades (each city is a percentage of your overall economy).
